Help

Develops, coordinates, implements and continually modifies a comprehensive group exercise program consisting of a variety of class styles. Ensures that all classes are taught in a safe and effective manner.
Designs, organizes and carries out special events and health promotion projects within this area. Provides information for publicity releases and coordinates with marketing professionals to maximize participation.
Creates and oversees a variety of exercise and wellness programs to include safe and beneficial exercise prescriptions for cardiovascular fitness, weight loss, strength conditioning and flexibility.
Refers patrons to medical personnel when necessary.
Instructs and demonstrates the proper and safe operation of exercise equipment.
Monitors information given to patrons for accuracy.
Delivers a comprehensive exercise and wellness assessment program.
Performs various physiologic and wellness related tests and screenings for patrons.
Consults with patrons with regard to test results and establishes exercise and nutrition programs accordingly.
Develops and presents lectures and educational materials for local military commands.
Topics include, but are not limited to, Navy Physical Readiness Program administration, exercise programming, nutrition awareness, cardiovascular risk factor modification, and sports conditioning development.
Consults with local command on issues relating to command conditioning programs and fitness center design.
Complies with EEO policies and communicates support of these policies with subordinates.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment

Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certification is required.
Certification from a nationally recognized agency in the area of exercise science or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

A minimum of one-year experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of the assigned program.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
Nationally recognized fitness certification required or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
