Duties

Help

Duty 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 505 CCW, ensuring that personnel, physical, industrial and information security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

Duty 2: Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Duty 3: Represents 505 CCW with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Duty 4: Implements and administers the SAP information, personnel, physical, and industrial security programs.

  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the EOD

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Working knowledge of concepts, procedures and practices within various special access program, special security office, and information protection security disciplines involved in each including: industrial, personnel, physical, information and computer. Planning, organizing and directing the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Experience using a working knowledge of clearance adjudication process and what constitutes derogatory information. Working knowledge of procedures, forms, information and confidentiality requirements related to sensitive personal information needed to request security investigations. Experience using one or more automated databases and software application associated with a specific security function to recognize, locate, and insert data/information; support office and security operations by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the unit mission; and produce a variety of documents and reports. Developing, analyzing and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.


FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and
resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military
officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a
variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of a broad range of Security Special Access program (SAP) and sensitive compartmented
information (SCI) security program relationships, and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security
to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized
security programs.
6. Skill in the use of principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to
meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.???????

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
