Duties

Help
  • Serve as Chief, Planning, Control and Appraisal Branch, Real Estate Division utilizing a well-developed knowledge of real estate practices, markets, values, planning, programming and budget principles.
  • Plan, formulate and administer the Real Estate Planning Program to meet the needs of the District's varied civil works and military programs.
  • Direct the performance, supervision and coordination of cadastral activities.
  • Responsible for the budget development, scheduling, planning, directing, coordinating and executing the planning and control operations involving the development of Project Cooperation Agreements and Project Partnership Agreements.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the real estate appraisal work in the district; and coordinates with the District Senior Appraiser on workload requirements for the Appraisal Team.
  • Provide guidance and oversight of the Real Property Officer who is responsible for approximately 1.4 Billion dollars of real property located at 25 lakes in the State of Texas.
  • Direct a subordinate staff of approximately 20 team members which include supervisors, technical and support employees to perform the work of the Branch.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing a real estate planning program; AND 2) Planning and executing real estate acquisition projects AND 3) Advising real estate personnel on real estate program and project accomplishments and/or status.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
