Learns to ensure data quality and integrity by adherence to quality control standards and procedures.
Assists other specialists in efforts to plan, carry out, and report on field inventories to evaluate the health of biological resources. The incumbent will assist with the analysis inventory data to identify any impacts or concerns.
Documents, evaluates, and reports changes in natural resources status. Assists more senior resources specialists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of resource management plans.
Participates in the implementation of natural resource programs by assisting with specific projects.
The incumbent may setup and implement new procedures for recurring well precedented natural resource improvement projects in coordination with other more senior resource specialists and/or the supervisor.

Basic Requirements GS-05
From the descriptions below, select the one statement that most accurately describes how you meet the Basic Requirement for a Natural Resources Specialist, GS-0401 position. Meeting the Basic Requirement also qualifies you for the grade GS-05.
A. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

B. Minimum Qualifications GS-07
For the grade GS-07, in addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, you must possess specialized experience, graduate education or a combination of specialized experience and graduate education. Physical Demands: Work requires some physical exertion such as bending and walking in terrain that is rough, rocky, mountainous and densely vegetated. This can include tools, personal protective equipment, food and water for extended periods of work away from vehicles.
Work Environment: Office work is performed in a setting that is adequately lighted, ventilated, cooled and heated.
