  • Provides input and recommendations to the Commander regarding real estate program activity planning and evaluation regarding aspects of long-range planning.
  • Makes preliminary studies of proposed acquisition or disposal projects to determine most advisable methods for processing the various types of property taking into consideration anticipated problems, changing economic conditions.
  • Exercises maximum delegation of authority in accepting options, issuances of out-leases, in-leases, and modification and cancellation of leases.
  • Participates in conferences and negotiations with city, county, or levee district officials.
  • Directs/coordinates the compilation of information and data for construction and relocation contracts.
  • Serves as a member of the Regional Real Estate Functional Board collaborating on the development and implementation of regional real estate plans and strategies.
  • Full scope of supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience One year of Specialized experience is defined as managing real estate functions, including acquisition, disposal, property management, and relocations; applying federal and DoD real estate policies, coordinating agreements, and ensuring regulatory compliance; resolving real estate issues, support program planning, and collaborate with stakeholders; overseeing projects, managing resources, and providing guidance to staff; communicating policy interpretation and contract negotiations; and managing/supervising personnel, hiring, training, evaluations, and compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
