Duties

Help

Assists the complex manager in managing all facilities consisting of a garage, vehicle repair shop, tire & lube center, two auto parts stores, car wash program, POV Sales Lot, Ministry of Transport (MOT) inspection program and storage compound. Develops for management approval operational and marketing initiatives based on current industry patterns and trends aimed at improving the sales and productivity of automotive and aftermarket parts sales activities in the AHC. Assists in managing the squadron hazardous waste management program, maintains inventories of hazardous waste and submits reports in accordance with directives. Serves as the alternate 48 FSS Vehicle Maintenance Officer (VMO); responsible for the day-to-day operation of the squadron's vehicle fleet, coordinating maintenance schedules, performing inspections, preparing reports, following local and higher headquarters guidelines. Prepares and submits to manager a quarterly and annual budget to reflect realistic needs and operating costs. Monitors expenditures with regard to budgeting goals. Performs supervisory personnel management, technical and administrative supervision over assigned employees. Structures assignments and assigns work based on priorities and deadlines to meet mission needs. Finalizes inventory reports and brings to the attention of the Auto Skills Complex Manager any discrepancies. Ensures required accounting documents are submitted. Applies good communication skills to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with business, industry, customer organizations, HRO, Marketing and financial office. Schedules and approves leave, evaluates employees, provides feedback and training, takes full advantage of all recognition programs to recognize employees. Hears and resolves problems and concerns and elevates any serious issues to the Auto Skills Complex Manager Initiates appropriate corrective action for performance or conduct. Operates various government vehicles in the performance of duties. Performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifying Experience:
Progressively responsible experience which provides sound knowledge of management principles and practices. Experience may have been gained in an operational, administrative or managerial position. Must have in-depth knowledge and management experience overseeing and controlling the process of automotive repairs to include operation of an auto parts sales facility Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Skill in supervising, motivating and directing a subordinate workforce.
