Summary

You will serve as an INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the SHIPYARD INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.

The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Duties

Help
  • You will coordinate, monitor quality, and oversee the installation, removal, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of infrastructure used by the shipyard.
  • You will provide final authority for assignment of infrastructure within the shipyard including equipment for permanent and temporary structures.
  • You will research and develop answers for issues concerning infrastructure and issued directives.
  • You will analyze audits, surveillance and deficiency reports to determine appropriate action code, identify adverse trends, review corrective action, and determine corrective action.
  • You will maintain records for the turnover of facilities and equipment assets to maintain consistency for each occupancy.
  • You will review and update department instructions, SOPs, and maintenance requirements and provide comments/changes necessary to minimize impact or to assist in defining functions and responsibilities of the department.
  • You will assist in the development of pier and dry dock configuration and/or arrangement drawings.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and evaluating complex infrastructure requirements to identify funding and procedural deficiencies and recommend improvements to optimize usage and quality of waterfront and industrial equipment and facilities ensuring policy and regulation compliance.

GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing infrastructure requirements by researching and identifying deficiencies to make recommendations for alternative facility requirements.
