Duties

Help

  • Plans 618 AOC/18 AF IMA mission support requirements. Coordinates with 618 AOC/18 AF Directorates in utilizing IMAs to support operations and contingency plans. Plans, programs, and budgets for IMA requirements.
  • Manages personnel actions affecting assignment of 618 AOC and 18 AF IMAs.
  • Performs AF Unit Reserve Coordinator Duties. Serves as the principal advisor to the 618 AOC/CC on all reserve military personnel assignments, transfers, promotions, separations, reenlistments, policies, procedures, actions, Defense Acquisition University (DAU) training qualifications, and services that pertain to reserve military personnel assigned to the 618 AOC.
  • Performs Unit Type Code (UTC) Readiness Reporting. Provides the Commander, 618 AOC UTC readiness information to employ, manage, and sustain Air Expeditionary Forces (AEF) operations.
  • Performs Resource and Capability Readiness Reporting. Provides the Commander, 618 AOC resource readiness assessment of the 618 AOCs ability to execute the full spectrum mission for which it was organized.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to the unit IMA program and readiness reporting systems concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement, or personnel which serve to facilitate line or program operations); Knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation, along with knowledge of standardized administrative practices and procedures to conduct studies of work processes in various organizations to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in organizational structure, staffing, administrative procedures, work processes, or workload distribution; Knowledge of administrative regulations and operating procedures plus skill in applying fact-finding and investigative techniques (e.g., employee/supervisor interviews, review of work procedures, instructions, records, and files) to gather clear-cut factual evidence of administrative waste and abuse, or compliance with regulations.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of Transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of IMA and ARC augmentee programs that involve planning, coordinating, programming, budgeting and/or evaluating support with appropriate AMC, Air Staff and Air Reserve Personnel Center agencies during peacetime, crisis and contingencies.
  2. Knowledge of a myriad of personnel actions associated with the IMA and ARC augmentee programs such as recruitment, manpower, appraisals, awards and decorations, training, placement actions, disciplinary actions and general records management.
  3. Knowledge of readiness operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating contingency support, readiness deployment and execution, sustainment, redeployment, mobility bags/small arms weapons, and logistics command and control.
  4. Ability to identify, analyze and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments and evaluate options concerning unit readiness reporting.
  5. Knowledge of readiness reporting systems for planning, executing and reporting operations (e.g., AF Input Tool (AF-IT), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), and AEF UTC Reporting Tool).
  6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
