Help

The purpose of this position is to serve as technical advisor for the management and administration of the Individual Training Management Program for the state.

  • ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the G3.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours.

Qualifications

Military Grades: SGT/E5 to SFC/E-7

Compatible Military Assignments: Any Army MOS

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Must possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade. Knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.

Education

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

1. Ability to plan, coordinate, monitor and administer the operation and security for the computer system and software applicants.

2. Ability to identify computer systems problems being experienced by ATRRS users by personal intervention or coordination with the Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management (DCSIM) or appropriate office to correct problems in operating and maintaining systems and software programs.

3. Ability to analyze personnel data, historical data, and current training priorities to develop accurate individual training requirements for the Program Objective Memorandum and the Regional Training Coordination Conference Program by extracting data from ATRRS and other sources.

4. Ability to recommend approval/disapproval of applications based on budgetary consideration (i.e. funds availability), priorities of attendance and schools requested.

5. Ability to research the availability of leadership or proficiency correspondence courses in various skills for professional development through written and/or verbal communication to personnel and promotes attendance.
