Help

Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supports the assessment and design of secure solutions covering the gamut of capabilities which DISA provides for the warfighter and consults with senior leaders across the Department in ensuring capabilities supporting DOW's mission are properly secured and defended.

Advises on all cyber-related and network operations planning, policy, implementation, technical initiatives, and on the development and maintenance of an effective cybersecurity policy that identifies Information Assurance architecture, requirements, objectives, policies, processes, and procedures.

Advises on cybersecurity policy for DISA and coordinates on cybersecurity policy for the DOW; monitors compliance of all Enterprise capabilities operated by DISA as well as all DISA systems and enclaves; and advises on the integration of cybersecurity processes with DISA strategic budgeting and operational planning processes.

Supports the assessment of DOW Enterprise capabilities and DISA information systems for risk and advises on appropriate actions to manage identified risk, and supports DISA's compliance with Office of Management and Budget, DOW, DOW CIO, US Cyber Command directives and tasking as directed by the Director, EII-CIO.

  • Must be a U.S.Citizen.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • The incumbent must be eligible to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have regular and recurring access to Top Secret information in the performance of official duties where the loss or compromise of such information would cause serious damage to National Security.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position, which requires the incumbent to submit to random testing of urine and illegal drugs or substances.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Ethics in Government Act, Public Law 95- 521, as amended, requires the submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, SF 278, upon assuming the position, annually, and upon termination of employment.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQ): You must show how you possess the TQs within your two-page resume. Failure to meet the two technical qualification requirements automatically disqualifies an applicant.

TQ1 - Demonstrated track record of providing advice and technical support to large government or industry cybersecurity / information assurance efforts. The incumbent must have experience in supporting large-scale secure systems design or risk analysis, in either industry or government.

TQ2 - Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems engineering, architecture, cloud-based solutions/ computing, mobile solutions; with extensive experience in environments including computer laboratories, production facilities, technology acquisition, and program offices.

SENIOR PROFESSIONAL (SP) QUALIFICATIONS: Work experience should demonstrate the ability to negotiate with senior leaders and subject matter technical experts of the federal, military services, private industry, and/or academia to arrive at acceptable technical and business solutions and agreement on highly complex and possibly controversial information technology issues; and Stature in the profession as indicated by memberships and activity in professional associations, honors, awards, and other recognition and leadership in national and international professional communities. Experience reflects contributions and a very positive professional reputation as evidenced by successfully executing risk management, information assurance, and authorizing official activities and taskings, in a large cyber or IT organization.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at this grade level.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

  • You will serve a one-year probationary period unless you previously completed the probationary period in Senior Leadership (SL) position.
