Duties

Help
  • Serves as a lifeguard at indoor/outdoor pools, water parks, or beach fronts, working under the direction of an Aquatics Program Manager or supervisor.
  • Ensures the safety of all guests by enforcing rules, rescuing swimmers in distress, and administering first aid as needed.
  • Assists in conducting aquatic swimming and water survival training, and maintains personal readiness by attending regular safety training.
  • Performs administrative duties such as staff scheduling, inventory tracking, ordering supplies, and maintaining daily operational logs and records.
  • Helps maintain a clean and hazard-free facility, informs patrons about safety procedures, and assists with coaching swimming programs as required.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Lifeguard must have good vision (based upon an acceptable standard of 20/40 vision or better, either corrected (with glasses or contacts) or uncorrected).
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Continuous exposure to prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
  • In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
  • Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
  • May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
  • A physical examination, arranged by the employer, is required prior to employment.
  • Must be willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess PRIOR to the start of employment, and then maintain for the duration of employment, the following certifications:

  • Lifeguard, AND
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional or CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AND
  • First Aid.
In addition to the above certifications, a qualified candidate must:
  • have experience providing customer service to others, AND
  • be willing to obtain an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification within two weeks of reporting for duty.
All certifications must be American Red Cross or a nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis.
