  • Selectee may be required to work on elevated platforms, such as ladders and scaffolding for extended periods of time.
  • Selectee may require frequent stooping, stretching, bending, kneeling and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions for long periods of time.
  • Selectee may be required to work inside and/or outside and be subject to inclement weather, dust, dirt, grease, fumes, and electrical shock and around equipment emitting loud/hazardous noise.
  • Selectee may be required to use personal protective such as safety glasses, rubber gloves/aprons, hearing protection, steel-toe boots and respirators for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2800 Electrical Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Ideal Candidate: Seeking an experienced and highly motivated leader as a Supervising Electrician. The ideal candidate will be a master of their craft, possessing a deep understanding of electrical systems and a proven track record of leadership. A natural leader with demonstrated supervisory experience. Excels at planning, project management, and scheduling work, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. A solid understanding of electrical theory, NEC and UFC standards, and advanced troubleshooting. An expert in adhering to critical safety protocols, including Arc-Flash and LOTO requirements. Highly skilled in interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Has hands-on mastery of electrical measuring devices like multimeters, insulation resistance meters, and power analyzers. Integrity, reliability, and punctuality are the cornerstones of their work ethic. They are organized, manage their time effectively, and are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. A valid driver's license and normal color vision are required. A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Completion of an accredited Electrician Apprenticeship or a related vocational program is highly desirable.
