Duties

Help
  • The Airfield Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient management of the airfield and associated services including airfield safety, flight operations, aircraft services, air traffic control, and air traffic equipment maintenance.
  • Develops, implements, manages, and annually reviews airfield-related plans and programs.
  • Delegates authority to subordinate supervisors, outlines policy and overall program requirements and objectives, and coordinates and monitors the execution of assigned functions.
  • Conducts daily and annual inspections of runways, taxiways, parking ramps, lighting and clearance areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Mission Essential: (not ‘emergency’ essential) – positions are subject to call back and work during nights, weekends, holidays, emergencies, and outside normal operating hours.
  • State Issued Driver’s License: AR 95-2 Ch 10 – airfield mgmt./ops, safety and electronics techs are required to perform various inspections around the airfield cantonment area daily on a daily basis.
  • Drug Screening: AR 95-2 para 5-4.c.(2)(b); AR 600-85 para 4-8.h.(6) and Ch. 5; AR 40-8; 49 CFR Part 382, Subpart C (applies to fuel operators); TC 3-04.15 para 1-49 and 5-42 thru 5-47.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Experience, education, and/or training providing a good understanding of administrative methods for accomplishing the work of an organization. Experience working with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles. Experience in maintenance of inventories and cost computations. 3 years of progressively responsible experience, that demonstrates the ability to:

  1. Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions;
  2. Plan and organize work; and
  3. Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training performing, administering, or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State, and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States). Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.
