Duties

Help

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-3 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Assist with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission.
  • Identifying the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Correlating PM objectives with Program plans to assure that the required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
  • Coordinate and evaluate logistics support in accordance with Performance Based Logistics (PBL) to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time.
  • Research and develop Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA logistics directives and Instructions.
  • Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointly research and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) capability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.

  • This is an acquisition position coded Foundational in Life Cycle Logistics. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (B2B) certification within 36 months of entry into position.
  • Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.
  • Employee must obtain/maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive/Secret clearance

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Applicants are required to meet 3 of 5 statements in order to be qualified.

  • Apply logistics processes, policies, procedures, and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule and performance for major weapon system programs.
  • Research, plan, coordinate, and brief logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision.
  • Identify and apply the concepts, policies and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and in-service systems during all acquisition phases of the life cycle.
  • Develop and implement training plans and activities for major weapon systems.
  • Apply critical thinking and apply best logistics practices for major acquisition programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
