Duties

Help

  • Serves as the principal assistant and technical advisor to senior management regarding the full range of administrative operations, plans, procedures, methods, and techniques that primarily affect the Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization's human resource management and related administrative programs.
  • Oversees the management of the full range of human resource management issues in coordination with Division/Office leadership and the HR Organization; and oversees the conduct and coordination of travel management, facilities, and security, and all aspects of administrative operations in the headquarters locations and Regional Offices, along with other Divisions and Offices within the FDIC. Assures compliance with the corporation and COO organization policies and procedures and oversees and/or implements the mechanics of administrative control procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to corporate administrative policy, programs, and management operations. Accountable for oversight of staff conducting admin program work, assisting and advising management and staff on administrative operations. Ensures that administrative programs work adequately for the workforce, and issues are resolved. Ensures that staffing levels are reviewed, maintained, and tracked; adjusting as needed and facilitating hiring operations.
  • Formulates policies relating to COO organization operational administration and advises the COO of the existence, nature, and possible ramifications of proposed policies or courses of action.
  • Plans, directs, and supervises broad program and evaluative studies that impact the COO organization, including employee developmental programs, policies, and procedures for administrative programs, and staffing allocations. Establishes the priorities of these studies, identifies issues, and devises courses of action that will accomplish desired results.
  • Serves as the primary technical advisor to groups engaged in determining the need for new administrative policy or the adequacy of existing policy and determining the adequacy of existing administrative procedures.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications, applicants must possess the following leadership and technical experiences. These qualifications would typically be gained through serving in roles that require managing projects/teams or guiding the technical work of others.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must submit a resume that addresses each minimum qualification experience. Leadership Experience: Experience in leading and coordinating projects, including establishing expectations, reviewing work products/services, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and feedback to team members; AND

Technical Experience: Experience in advising management on a variety of administrative programs, sharing understanding on policies and regulations, operational procedures and timelines, and how/when to modify and adapt guidelines to resolve new problems or meet new requirements.
