Help
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to the Managing Direct, Operations Manager, and the agency Deputy Director on technical services for controlling and improving the quality of secure products.
  • Manage and direct SID’s Secure Quality Management and Quality Assurance Sections for both Washington, DC (DC) and Stennis, MS (SPF).
  • Participate in the development of strategic and operational plans; analyze supply chain and assess the impact on program requirements.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SID Quality Managedfment System which is ISO 9001 certified.
  • Make recommendations to the Managing Director regarding software requirements, methods of improvement, acquisition of new equipment or warehouse management systems for both Quality and Inventory processes.
  • Prepare special or recurring reports and study relating to U.S. Passports and Secure Credential Quality program operations.

  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Report may be required.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
  • TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
  • Applicant must successfully complete Preemployment requirements before appointment
  • 1-Year Supervisory Probationary Period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist, PG - 1910 - 15 , you must meet the following requirements:

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the PG-14 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position must include:

1. Experience working in a Quality Assurance Management Role within an Engineering/Manufacturing site or similar industry. AND

2. Directing all components of a quality assurance program such as long range planning of operations, managing staff, quality compliance, utilization of equipment and materials to assure all commitments are met and the efficiency of the operations are maintained. AND

3. Maintaining International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 certification efforts. AND

4. Preparing reports and studies pertaining to a Quality Assurance Program.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (01/14/2026) to be considered.

Background Investigation:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Top Secret Clearance. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Top Secret clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs; this security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months.

GPO will conduct an interim security clearance, pending the completion of the full investigative requirements for the final Top Secret clearance. The interim security clearance will be granted based on the favorable completion of preliminary checks that are accomplished as part of the security clearance process. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance.

The selectee will work shift 1. Work hours are four (4) ten (10) hour days working Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.
