Internal to Agency means current, permanent Air Force Civilian Employees in the Competitive Service. Duties

As a OPERATIONAL PLANNER at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Review and coordinate Combatant Command theater war plans, Joint instructions and policy, and capability developmental activities applicable to JECC.
  • Coordinate and submit JECC readiness assessments for Directed Readiness Tables (DRT) and Quarterly Apportionment to ensure compliance with Joint Staff requirements.
  • Validate contingency plans, and address capability gaps to enhance future development.
  • Develop and assess the JECC Campaign Plan, aligning operations with USTRANSCOM priorities and improving processes through data-driven feedback.
  • Manage contingency planning by validating requirements, reviewing war plans, and integrating Joint capabilities into operational plans.

  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)) security clearance

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Plan frameworks, contingency operations, and integrate Joint and Service capabilities into operational plans.
  • Develop, execute, and assess strategic campaign plans using data-driven methods to improve organizational performance.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel at all organizational and hierarchy levels.
  • Develop, publish, modify, and maintain annual agency campaign plans.
  • Validate requirements, review war plans, and integrate Joint capabilities into operational plans.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
