Duties

Help

  • Serves as a Cyber Effects Planner, subject matter expert on CO to bridge the operational to tactical gaps and provide relevant support to CCMD planning.
  • Analyzes complex operational, tactical situational awareness processes and cyber systems (security) to support mission activities.
  • Participates in studies, conducts trend analysis, and performs other work associated with maintaining maximum combat readiness.
  • Represents the functional mission at higher levels within the CCMD.

  • Position is designated special-sensitive, and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. The employee may be subject to polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, for the GS-2210, Information Technology (IT) Management Series (Alternative A).

Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience includes knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of critical command plans and programs for participating in and conducting CCMD crisis/contingency operations; focusing on CO integration; Cyber Counter-Threat; Cyber Warfare and associated mission operations, training, deployment, acquisition, exercise, training systems, contingency, and similar operations. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Comprehensive level of knowledge regarding communications-computer system requirements, AFCYBER Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), the Air Force Information Network (AFIN) enterprise architecture, along with an in-depth knowledge of current and projected threats (as depicted by the intelligence community) to the DoDIN and the AFIN.
2. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of CO, and the standard practices, methods, and TTPs of the occupation to perform difficult and complex assignments.
3.Wide range of Information Technology (IT) best commercial and military practices, testing concepts and weapons systems capabilities. Uses this knowledge to assist the CCMD in accomplishing its cyber missions.
4. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques, as well as measurement of data to plan, schedule, and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations to include adapting or developing new or modified methods.
5. Ability to understand, develop analytical investigative techniques and provide recommended feasible solutions to JFHQ-C (AF) and CCMD operational challenges, by working within and outside the organization to gain support for the organization's goals and objectives.
6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
