Help
  • Classifies, routes and rates domestic and export shipments of hazardous and general supplies and Chemical Defense Equipment (CDE) and conventional ammunition for Pine Bluff Arsenal.
  • Utilizes technical guides and publications to ship a wide variety of commodities.
  • Maintains accurate transit documents and control records for an organization.
  • Uses various office automation equipment, databases, and transportation systems to track and retrieve required data.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test and then annually through random testing thereafter.
  • Technical Transportation of Hazardous Material Certification required within 6 months.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Classifying and routing shipments using established regulations and guidelines; Computing rates and routes for domestic shipments; Maintaining records of charges for shipments., and Operating Transportation Systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
