About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patt AF. As a member of the Air Force Marathon staff, this position will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Air Force Marathon administrative duties.

The position includes paid holidays, annual and sick leave accrual, as well as optional participation in Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance plans, Retirement, 401K and Flexible Benefits plans.

Duties

Help

As a member of the Air Force Marathon staff, this position will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Air Force Marathon administrative duties. Utilizes word processing software to produce a variety of documents. Transmits and receives documents and messages orally, written, and electronically. Types correspondence, reports, forms, messages, memorandums, statistical or tabular material in final form without a rough draft. Answers telephone calls and receives visitors, supplying requested information from own knowledge and/or office files, or refers caller to the appropriate source. Receives, logs, and distributes all incoming mail, and maintains suspense system. Performs a variety of general office duties such as routing and filing correspondence and maintaining files. Position will require occasional operation of a government motor vehicle. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining AF Marathon NAF accounts. Examines, verifies, and maintains accounting transactions which involve a number of different accounts while serving as the liaison between the USAF Marathon office and the NAF Accounting office. Assists the AF Marathon Director in entering and transmitting cost estimate reports and statements of work for large purchases as well as coordinates with the contracting office on contract options and on individual service contracts as necessary. Utilizes designated system database for making and monitoring purchase requests, and receiving reports and contracts. Travel opportunities to attend local, state, and national meetings, conferences, and seminars that pertain to producing race events, serves as an ambassador of the USAF Marathon at these events. Irregular work hours may be required to represent the Air Force Marathon during events. The office automation clerk will serve as backup for all registration duties, familiar with both the runner registration platform as well as the volunteer registration database and volunteer recruiting system. This position will also learn the inventory system and serve as the back-up for input and familiarity with the inventory process.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have progressively responsible experience in clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Must have experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint platforms. Preferred knowledge of basic accounting skills. Experience working in an event management environment is strongly preferred. Must possess the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while acting in the best interest of the USAF. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy. Position requires standing, walking, bending, carrying and/or lifting of items up to 40 lbs. Successful completion of a National Agency Check is required. This is a drug testing designated position and the incumbent is subject to random drug testing.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
