Duties

Help

  • Serves a Program Manager, administers, assigns, tracks, analyzes, and reports taskers and Requests for Information (RFIs). Maintains situational awareness of current and planned operations and directorate divisions' capabilities and capacities to allow precise and timely assignment for coordination or development of products for the Directorate Chief of Staff and four General/Flag Officers' review.
  • Manages the Information Security Program. Advises, assists, and carries out the orders of the Director and the Directorate Chief of Staff within the tolerances of the HQ USCENTCOM Information Security Program.
  • Manages the NATO Records Management Program. Serves as the USCENTCOM lead for the NATO records management program, provides policy SME through training and internal inspections to ensure compliance with higher echelon directives.
  • Information management product development and support. Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services and takes a proactive approach in providing customer assistance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes master level knowledge of the laws, Executive Orders, policies, procedures, and regulations governing the Requests for Information RFIs, Information Security and CL programs, including master level knowledge of recent PA developments (e.g., court decisions and legislation); Comprehensive knowledge of the NATO Records Management Program and associated principles, regulatory requirements, request flow process, and organizational policy; Comprehensive knowledge of the Information Security Program and associated principles, regulatory requirements, request flow process, and organizational policy; Knowledge and skill in performing a full range of computer technology tasks, including word processing, production of visual aids and spreadsheets, web site maintenance, information storage and retrieval, redacting documents in Adobe Acrobat and other tasks associated with the assembly and maintenance of electronic data.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of statutes, policies, procedures, Executive Orders, and regulations to provide guidance and to develop and implement policies and publications applicable to the management and administration of the Requests for Information RFIs programs, including expert knowledge of CL developments (e.g., court decisions and legislation) to include knowledge of command and military service department structure and supporting elements and programs, missions, policies, and goals.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of the NATO Records Management Program and associated principles, regulatory requirements, request flow process, ad organizational policy.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of the Information Security Program and associated principles, regulatory requirements, request flow process, and organizational policy
  4. Knowledge of effective training principles, techniques, and tools required to develop, instruct, evaluate, improve and conduct training.
  5. Possesses proficient skills in Microsoft Suite Office Applications (i.e., Excel, Adobe, Word, Power Point), database management, and general Information Management principles and processes.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a variety of individuals and make written and oral presentations to various levels of management on complex and challenging information management issues.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Tier 5 investigation. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
