What to Expect

  • Responsible for the supervision, training, inspection, and administrative functions of the Vending Mechanic's Section to include custodial personnel.

  • Supervises and assigns the work duties and priority to employees under cognizance.

  • Coordinates training and reviews work progress, resolves problems and conflicts of subordinates, approves leave, completes disciplinary/commendatory actions, establishes work schedules, and completes performance feedback/Learning Development Plans.

  • Operates a computer and peripheral equipment to input and retrieve information and reports as needed to make efficient and productive decisions based on retrieved information or generated reports.

  • Participates in financial procedures to include building and executing an annual budget.

  • Assists other vending supervisors in ensuring daily operations of the vending branch are consistently managed, identifying and resolving routine operational problems.

  • In the absence of lower graded personnel or heavy workload, must be capable of performing all duties of lower graded employees.

  • Must be alert to alcohol/substance abuse and take appropriate action.

  • Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.

  • Work involves visiting various locations.

  • Work may be inside or outside, with the possibility of exposure to temperature extremes. 

  • Work involves driving in inclement weather.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Three years' experience in the vending industry, refrigeration repair, or general maintenance/mechanical repair is required.

  • One-year supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Must possess administrative skills and experience with a computer and its traditional peripheral equipment.

  • Valid driver's license is required. 

  • Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates and management, exercise tact, express ideas and communicate well orally and in writing.

  • Must be able to operate vehicles up to 12,000 pounds and forklifts up to 3,000-pounds.

  • Must be able to supervise and assist the Vending Machine Mechanics.

  • Must be capable of diagnosing complex repair requirements and executing complex repairs independently.

Direct Deposit of total NET pay is mandatory as a condition of employment for all appointments to positions within MCCS.
