About the Position: As a Construction Scheduler, you will prepare, review, and analyze construction schedules for compliance, as well as identify, troubleshoot, and determine the root causes of schedule delays and impacts.

Duties

Help
  • Prepare, review, and analyze construction project schedules to ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of schedule delays and impacts, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Lead the application of PRIMAVERA P6 and other construction scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, RMS) for the Construction Branch.
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure schedules are realistic, properly resourced, and logically networked.
  • Review and integrate sub-tier contractor schedules into the overall project schedule, ensuring proper logic, sequencing, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain standard WBS templates and reference data for District projects.
  • Communicate schedule risks and opportunities to project teams and leadership, recommending alternative courses of action to mitigate schedule risk.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.

GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Applying practical knowledge of construction project scheduling, including the development, review, and analysis of construction schedules for large-scale projects, such as MILCON, Civil Works, and similar; Performing forensic schedule analysis, identifying root causes of delays, and recommending mitigation strategies; Analyzing work breakdown structures (WBS), resource loading, logic ties, and coordination of multiple trades and contractors; Utilizing PRIMAVERA P6 and other construction scheduling tools.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
