Duties

Help
  • Serve as a principal investigator and team leader with responsibility for planning, directing, and conducting research projects.
  • Promote and coordinate research activities across departments.
  • Determine budgetary and personnel requirements for extramural funding applications.
  • Consolidate and disseminate research findings via presentations, reports, and publications.
  • Perform complex research tasks and integrate co-investigator contributions.
  • Advise and mentor residents, interns, and graduate students in research training.
  • Provide guidance on protocol preparation including experimental design and statistics.
  • Assist in procurement of selected grants as selected by leadership.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Healthcare Resolutions Specialist:

Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. My degree is from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes performing as clinical researcher and senior scientist, planning and running important medical and military research projects, providing guidance and mentoring students, medical residents, and researchers, and coordinating and lead training for professional development of clinical staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).



Education
