Duties

Help

  1. Cleans lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas.
  2. Sweeps, dry mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers.
  3. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture.
  4. Cleans and sanitizes guest room appliances, cooking utensils and dishes.
  5. Empties wastebaskets.
  6. Polishes doorknobs/handles and other metal fixtures.
  7. Washes walls, windows, ceiling fans, aircon ventilations, bathroom fan vents, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools.
  8. Changes all bed linen to include pillow protectors and cases and makes bed according to DAFMAN policy.
  9. Collects soiled linen and places it at a pickup point.
  10. Receives clean linen and delivers it where directed.
  11. Handles biohazard items, fills out biohazard forms and places items in biohazard red bags for collection.
  12. Using the telephone system, updates room status, occupancy, and checkouts.
  13. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.
  14. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains.
  15. Dusts ledges, woodwork, and furniture.
  16. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items.
  17. Notes condition of facilities and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance.
  18. Keeps a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work.
  19. Advises supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or not functioning correctly.
  20. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • The incumbent must be a U. S. Citizen or legal U. S. residents residing within the commuting area (100 miles) of Yokota AB.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work an uncommon tour of duty to provide coverage on evenings, weekends and holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  1. Must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions and be able to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment.
  2. Must be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets, lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  3. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long periods of time


Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

Additional information

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

  • Probationary period may be required.
