Duties

Help

Assists with the economic and efficient operation of the assigned facility. Assists with the day-to-day operations of the facility, to include: overseeing and directing work, ensuring a safe and pleasurable environment for all patrons, ensuring the cleanliness and good repair of the facility, reporting any damages, mechanical or other breakage or malfunction, reporting of safety hazards.

Serves as alternate fund custodian of the facility, ensuring the safety and appropriate use of funds, ringing/verifying registers, issuing and checking change funds, preparation and/or oversight of Daily Activity Report and deposits, and assisting with procurement requests, internal controls, physical asset and/or resale/food and beverage inventories.

Ensures the implementation of higher-level directives and regulations. Promotes, schedules, and manages other special events and programs necessary resources for the purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise. Carries out necessary liaison with other officials that support Club activities, customer participation, marketing, purchase of equipment and accessories, etc. Responsible for acting on internal and patron problems with minimal adverse impact on functional programs.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Assumes responsibilities for the Club Manager in her/his absence.

Directly supervises up to (9) NA-03 flexible food service workers. Responsible for planning and assigning work, creating and posting work schedules, maintaining work standards and establishing good team relations. Conducts continuous on the job training. Deals with employee suggestions, complaints, grievances, and resolves problems in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Recommends the hiring and/or corrective or disciplinary actions to the Club Manager. Evaluates performance, and recommends pay adjustments/awards as warranted. In the absence of the Manager, the incumbent full supervision of the club facility and is responsible for all supervisory functions.

  • Must get food/alcohol safety certification during first 90 days.
  • A significant amount of walking is necessary. Incumbent will be expected to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Must currently hold or be able to attain ServSafe certification and CARE within 6 months of hiring date, maintain annual sanitation, and all other required training.

Qualifications

Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.

A qualified candidate must possess:

Knowledge and experience of club management procedures and general business practices related to the operational management of food and beverage operations, social programs, and the effective utilization of club facilities and equipment as might be gained from college level courses in restaurant management and/or 3 - 5 years related progressive professional experience.

Skills conducting surveys and audits to identify program deficiencies; determining the impact of changes to the services provided the patron community and repairs to the facilities and equipment, or other corrective measures; and coordinating the scheduling or implementing of the work with other organizational activities.

Knowledge of cost and control procedures and skill in the maintenance and control of expenditures to ensure limitations are observed. Knowledge of social and recreational program planning requirements and skill in developing recommendations and justifications for major modifications to the club activities. Knowledge of accounting procedures sufficient to follow individual funds from initiation through expenditure states in order to trace discrepancies in the system. Knowledge and understanding of the regulations and guides to interpret and apply them to a variety of accounting situation.

Must be dependable and courteous, and possess the ability to effectively and harmoniously work with others.
