This position is located in the Shoemaker Center located on Fort Cavazos, Texas. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Patient Appointment and Scheduling (PAS) module serving Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center patients in the Health Service Area.

Duties

Help
  • Perform as the master scheduler/technical manager of Patient Appointment and Scheduling (PAS) responsible for the central management of the scheduling/appointing system.
  • Develop and manages master appointment templates for health care providers and technicians ensuring correct coding and compatibility with existing systems ensuring proper accountability of workload.
  • Provide a variety of PAS statistical data reports and prepares other reports, as required, reflecting health care provider productivity (i.e., un-booked appointments, no shows, end of day reports, telephone consults, etc).
  • Serve as point of contact and technical expert for PAS operations and activities to include training of the appointment clerks.

  • Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing receptionist/clerical support for healthcare staff; receiving patients and visitors (in person or telephonically) or verifying patient eligibility for medical services; scheduling patient appointments and/or coordinating patient referral appointments; and utilizing automated systems for entering or updating data in a medical treatment facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Qualified typist is required (40 wpm).
