Help
  • Advises on the management and implementation of network and server capabilities, ensuring compliance with SDC and DoD policies, procedures, and architectures, while driving process improvements to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Directs the planning, coordination, and execution of 24x7 network operations, ensuring the continuous availability, security, and reliability of classified and unclassified networks supporting critical command and control (C2) functions.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for critical infrastructure, leading the development and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance network and system capabilities, aligning with SDC and DoD objectives.
  • Manages and mentors a diverse team of IT specialists and contractors, fostering a customer-centric culture and empowering them to deliver exceptional network services and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders across DoD and other agencies to define networking objectives, integrate emerging technologies, and resolve complex technical challenges to ensure effective C2 network support for diverse events and circumstances.

  • This is a drug test position requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • This position requires the incumbent to travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS) up to 25 percent of the time.
  • Incumbent is subject to recall or call back during off shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-14, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-13 if outside the Federal service.

Qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining secure global networks and critical infrastructure such as servers, network devices, applications or operating systems, or ensuring continuous, reliable, and secure communication capabilities for senior leadership and supporting strategic command and control missions.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.
