Duties

Help

Serves as an Operations Assistant with the primary responsibility for maintaining order and harmony of patrons, and securing the facilities and grounds at an Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) located on a military installation.

Monitors operations to ensure smooth running of AFRC Dragon Hill Lodge throughout the day and adherence to established schedules of activities and priorities. Respond to medical emergencies and to perform needed first aid, including CPR and the use of an AED. Know how to respond to and correct problems (if required) with the fire alarm system and when to contact maintenance personnel for immediate service. Be able to program, interrogate door locks, and make keys for employees, contractors and guests on an RFID lock system. Know how to operate a keywatcher system. Correct issues/problems with in-room guest safes. Respond to disturbances and be able to determine if local law enforcement must be contacted. Must know, understand and enforce evacuation, force protection, safety and security plans, policies and procedures. Alert and direct first responders during emergencies. Be able to take a statement from a guest or employee and write incident/information reports, attach required material and forward to responsible resort departments as required. Perform security at designated area and patrol resort grounds. Make routine checks of gates, doors, buildings and equipment ensuring safety and security. Maintain resort keys and issue to employees and contractors as required. Escort personnel within the resort as needed. Maintain log of authorized visitors. Perform vehicle inspections when required.

Perform customer service work that contributes toward the well-being of our guests and employees which includes check ID cards of persons entering the resort and providing directions. Use tact and diplomacy to deny entrance to unauthorized personnel or to remove those not adhering to the resorts policies. Ensure compliance with fire, safety, and security standards. Be familiar with calendar of events in order to inform guests/patrons of scheduled events. Maintain assigned area in a clean and orderly manner. Report all maintenance issues immediately to a supervisor or maintenance department for repair.

  • This position requires employees to wear a uniform.
  • Must obtain First aid, to include CPR and use of AED within the first 60 days of employment.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Related experience as described above. Previous security experience preferred. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Be able to read, understand and follow safety and security plans, policy, and procedures. Must be able to speak English clearly to give direction and explain policy. Must be able to operate and use various safety and other electronic and automated equipment (fire alarm, CCTV, radios, computers, etc.). The ability to work a rotating schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Experience or knowledge with Microsoft Office software.

PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
