Duties

Help

  • Responsible for managing daily coffee shop operations to include staffing, funds control, ordering subsistence and specialty beverages, and inventory management.
  • Responsible for processing all paperwork related to inventory, purchasing, scheduling, payroll, personnel actions, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, and performance awards.
  • Provides supervision, training, guidance, and instructions to all coffee shop employees.
  • Ensures employees are trained to prepare all specialty drinks within Starbucks' guidelines.
  • Trains staff to prepare take-out coffee packages for special events.
  • Implements food handling and customer service training and ensures employees meet all Air Force training and safety standards.
  • Must enforce safe food handling practices and sanitation principles.
  • Required to serve as a barista, as well as prepare and deliver catered items as scheduled.
  • Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer issues.
  • Plans promotional activities and ensures they are marketed to Permanent Party and Air University population.
  • Manages Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) budget to actual expenses and provides budget projections to leadership for quarterly financials.
  • Facilitates Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) to develop short and long term improvement ideas.
  • Plans budget for food and beverage items. Responsible for accuracy of Services Employee Timekeeping System (SETS) for staff.
  • Reports directly to Maxwell Club MGR.
  • Reviews and endorses daily cash and inventory paperwork before it is turned in to the NAF accounting office.
  • Maintains equipment listing and schedules equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Ensures facility is maintained in a clean and neat manner and is secured when not in operation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to manage and provide work direction to employees. Requires experience in making specialty coffee recipes and serving food and beverages. Requires experience in cash handling procedures and sales operations such as receipt, disbursement, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods. Must obtain a food handlers certificate. Must possess skills in dealing with the public and handling customer issues. Requires skillful verbal and written communication and documentation capability. Ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Must have computer experience working with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. Must be able to bend, twist, stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs, as well as move tables and other equipment as needed. A pre-employment physical is required. Subject to an uncommon tour of duty. A Local Files Check (LFC) and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are required.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
