Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position:
You will serve as the Fort Bliss Air Traffic and Airspace (AT&A) Officer providing technical interpretation of rules and regulatory requirements for operations with the National Airspace System (NAS) and managing all air traffic and airspace assets.

Duties

Help
  • Manages all air traffic and airspace assets and provides technical expertise.
  • Provides direction, evaluation, coordination, and advice on Air Traffic and Airspace operations, management and training.
  • Develops and recommends policy and plans to support the use of navigable airspace.
  • Develops plans to meet new airspace mission requirements, for airspace improvements, modifications or expansion.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Control Program and requires to sign a DA 5019 and must pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to report to work or remain as scheduled to support mission operations during the event of sever weather conditions or other such emergency type situations.
  • This position requires to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience directing and conducting airspace- management functions; ensuring integration and synchronization of multiple airspace users; ensures the safe synchronized use of airspace- integrating aircraft, UAS, fires and friendly units while overseeing ATC operations and advising units on all airspace issues.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
