Help
  • Supports operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure/non-secure phone, data, mobile, decision, and video systems for the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
  • Prepares for and executes periodic, extensive voice and data communications tests using different platforms with external and internal agencies.
  • Manages alternate site readiness, main security/access contact for SecDef/DepSecDef teams during continuity events. Site POC and OSD-Policy liaison for Defense Continuity and Mission Assurance.
  • Leads development/implementation of engineering, integration, management, policies, and provisioning for OSD comms, decision tools, and info systems at primary/alternate sites.
  • Delivers updates, drawings, and briefings on comms, decision tools, and IT systems, including infrastructure and alternate site readiness.
  • Resolves training, procedural, and operational gaps in comms, decision tools, and IT systems for the Secretary of Defense, including infrastructure and alternate site capabilities.

  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • This is a Mission Essential position.
  • Drug Testing Position.
  • This position requires a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500.7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation.
  • This position requires a top secret/sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience developing operational resilience procedures aligned with organizational standards, managing alternate site readiness, providing IT support for continuity operations, and experience adhering to organizational data security requirements to ensure continuity of operations during emergencies, such as natural disasters or attacks.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.

Education

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level.
