Duties

Help

  • Manages overall surveillance of the contractor's work performance through personal inspections and engaging assigned Quality Assurance Specialists.
  • Ensures the provision of required government-furnished services to the contractor through requests and coordination work with other base support activities such as, Civil Engineering, Safety, Security Police, Supply, etc.
  • Meets with wing and squadron training personnel to determine TD monthly training schedules. Incumbent provides weekly training schedule to contractor with daily updates, as required.
  • Provides briefing to local and higher management officials on the status of TD operations.
  • Serves as member/evaluator for pre-award survey teams and acquisition/modification source selections relating to simulator complexes.

  • May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG. Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in fields such as quality control, quality inspection, contracting and purchasing, supply and storage, industrial or production planning, research and engineering, maintenance, and test and evaluation that provided (1) familiarity with quality assurance or related work, (2) pertinent product or process knowledge and skill, (3) ability to interpret and apply contract requirements and engineering specifications, and (4) skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-1910-11 level, you must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. In addition to the OPM IORs, specialized experience includes experience, education, or training involving a thorough knowledge of product or range of products involved, the manufacturing methods and techniques, special processes, test, and performance requirements; and skill in developing plans and programs. Experience possessed by an expert in specialization able to give technical direction to otherwise competent workers. Experience determining operations when difficult and questionable phases of malfunctions are found. Experience which required significant and concrete work accomplishments (i.e., special projects, working groups, or detailing assignments) involving interpersonal contacts in a quality assurance or related field. Experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for the function required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved.

Education

If you are using Education to qualify for this position, Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in Major Study -- quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
