Qualifications
Position may be filled as time-limited appointment Term NTE 18 months. This position is a TERM position. Employees who accept time-limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be placed in a non-status appointment and will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date. There are no return/reemployment rights to the position vacated prior to accepting the time-limited appointment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting and applying military, federal, and state correctional regulations and procedures for cases; preparing cases for prisoners to be presented to the law enforcement agencies, state, federal or military clemency and parole boards or equivalent bodies or senior leaders in state, military or federal agencies; evaluating pertinent facts from military, social, criminal, medical reports in case records; and providing case merit recommendations to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
