Duties

Help
  • Takes orders placed by patrons for food and alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages. Orders drinks from Bartenders and delivers to patrons. Maintains sales record. Collects cash or payment by credit card. Keeps service bar area clean and orderly.
  • Cleans and clears customer service areas. May assist bartender in dispensing beverages and restocking the bar area. Delivers food and drinks from Kitchen to the Customers.
  • Knowledge of beverage handling and serving techniques. Math ability to compute checks and make change. Ability to recognize the signs of intoxication.
  • Responsible for cash receipts and complying with internal controls, accountability procedures.
  • Stands and walks for long periods. Continually lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds. May be required to assist in changing kegs that require a two-person lift. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, chapter 2. to include a medical/physical per lifting requirements
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial ServSafe Food and Alcohol, and safety training within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours annual refresher training.
  • Must be 21 years of age time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  1. Where duties involve selling alcoholic beverages applicant must meet state/local age requirements (21 years old) for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment.
  2. Possess basic math skills necessary to compute patron bills and make change.
  3. Be able to communicate effectively in English.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
