Duties

Help

Provide evidence-based individual and group interventions for a wide range of mental health and behavioral medicine conditions within a primary care or integrated healthcare setting.
Conduct rapid assessments and developing brief, problem-focused treatment plans for beneficiaries with acute and chronic mental health and behavioral medicine conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Consult and collaborate effectively with primary care providers and other medical professionals on patient care, treatment planning, and behavioral health integration.
Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives and participating in quality assurance activities related to behavioral health services.
Utilize objective behavioral outcome measures to evaluate treatment progress and contribute to program effectiveness.
Present cases and provide training on evidence based methods to peers.

This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
This position requires a valid unrestricted state license as a doctoral level Psychologist.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist:

Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes performing behavioral health assessments and/or psychological testing, developing behavioral health treatment plans and/or recommendations, and providing treatment to behavioral health patients.

License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
