Duties

Help

  • Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of the Bowling Center.
  • Provides information on services, bowling promotions, leagues, and tournaments. Ensures that maximum utilization of lanes and equipment is realized through efficient control and flow of customers.
  • Collects, safeguards and deposits fees received from customers. Inspects facilities and equipment to assure safe conditions and cleanliness. Issues and collects equipment, checking their condition upon return.
  • Assists in conducting inventories; maintain records. As necessary, demonstrates basic techniques used in bowling and ensures that safety rules are followed.
  • Operates computer, cash register and PA system.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in the bowling center and other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Practical knowledge of bowling activities, rules, and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash, skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
