Duties

Help

The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs over the counter selling of a variety of merchandise including but not limited to; jewelry, footwear, clothing, photographic equipment, electronics, and novelty gifts.
  • Explains use of various products, answers questions and assists patrons.
  • Records sales, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise.
  • Prices merchandise, replenishes stock, and assists with inventories.
  • Performs housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  • Experience in clerical, office, cash handling and/or retail sales store work
  • Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures and the ability to operate a cash register
  • Must possess skill in dealing with the public

Education

Additional information

  • All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit.
  • Probationary period may be required.
