Exercises administration and technical supervision over approximately 95 employees.
Responsible for all aspects of personnel management.
Promotes team-building and improves business practices.
Manages the operation, maintenance and security of a hydroelectric power plant, spillway, navigation lock and appurtenant structures.
Responsible for a yearly routine Operation and Maintenance budget of approximately $13 million dollars.
Establishes multi-year strategic plans and project budget proposals.
Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving operational and/or engineering issues.
Supervises the preparation of technical reports, studies, decision documents and project budgets.
Budget management of multiple complex funding sources.
Represents the Corps of Engineers during fact-finding tours and briefings to other federal agencies, special interest groups, regional stakeholders, congressional visitors.
Represents management working with union officials to adhere to the collective bargaining agreement.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in the operations and maintenance of large multi-use industrial facilities OR energy production facility OR multipurpose water management projects which could include flood control, navigation, environmental and/or recreational uses; AND experience in the development and execution of an annual operating budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
