Duties

Help

  • Advise and consult on broad, comprehensive, management and IT issues that impact the Chief Information Officer (CIO) organization, and the FDIC.
  • Review analysis of forecasted IT change impact on the FDIC and the financial services industry to offer independent advice on choices for IT strategic and tactical plan adjustment.
  • Review recommended new programs and policies to improve FDIC mission achievement and advise on advantages and disadvantages of competing approaches.
  • Assist and advise the CIO, Chief Privacy Officer & Director, DIT, in governance responsibilities.
  • Provide information, recommendations, and assistance to executive level governance bodies.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative operations effectiveness in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Monitor FDIC compliance with law and US government policies and procedures.
  • Represent the CIO in capital investment project governance meetings and in multi-divisional management and administrative groups.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here.

To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-14 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as serving as a technical advisor/liaison to senior management; and planning, directing and making recommendations on analytical and evaluative studies of policies, programs and procedures, management reporting, and project tracking.

Additional information

Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $255,000.
