Help

As a National Field Supervisor, you will:

  • Serve as an expert in all areas of the examination process in order to provide authoritative direction, review, and evaluation, for assigned examiners and credit unions (CU).
  • Oversee, manage, and supervise the activities of assigned ONES examiners with various specialty areas who work and live throughout the United States and coordinate with the appropriate State Supervisory Authority (SSA) to schedule and successfully complete CU examinations and on-site contacts and resolve issues and disputes arising from joint ONES and SSA efforts.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations relating to the content, result oriented effectiveness, and overall quality of CU examination reports prepared by assigned staff and ensure that noted deficiencies identified during the report evaluation process are dealt with and corrected in an expedient manner.
  • Recommend, implement, and direct necessary administrative action relating to assigned CUs, including mergers and all liquidations, conservatorships, prohibitions, special assistance, authority waiver requests, insurance/charter conversion applications and other applicable regulatory actions.
  • Represent the ONES as a speaker/training at regional and national meetings, forums, and training functions.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

To qualify at the CU-15 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-14 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This must include experience coaching and/or mentoring lower graded staff and at least at least one (1) of the following activities:

A) reviewing the quality of financial institution examinations; or
B) examining complex or troubled financial institutions; or
C) writing supervisory guidance for financial institution related issues at the national level.

You must meet the qualifications for this position by the closing date of this announcement.

Additional information

SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position in accordance with NCUA's compensation policy.

The salary range shown is NCUA's National Pay Rate (NPR) which includes a locality rate of 16.32% for the Rest of the U.S. (RUS) geographical area. Actual salary will be determined upon the location of the selectee and the applicable locality pay, per the NCUA's CU pay table, will be applied. The locality rates, by location, can be found on the NCUA Careers webpage under the Salary Information section.

This position is not in the bargaining unit.
