Duties

Help
  • Through subordinate activity managers, is responsible for overall management of fiscal resources and direction of the Directorate, Morale Welfare and Recreation (DMWR) Community Recreation Division at a large garrison.
  • This includes: Sports, Fitness, Extramural Sports Region Championships, Auto Skills, Parks and Picnic Areas, Library, Entertainment, Music and Theater, Arts and Crafts, Community Activity Centers, Outdoor Recreation, Leisure Travel, etc.
  • Provides leadership and supervision, and communicates mission and organization goals to subordinates.
  • Directs, develops, and administers plans and procedures; implements regulations to provide for a comprehensive community recreation program widely recognized for addressing a broad range of interests and needs of the military community
  • Reviews program priorities and develops five-year plan covering projected programs of personnel, funds, and facilities.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Work experience directing/managing one or more DMWR Recreation Programs for a garrison, or similar civilian operation, for at least one year.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
1. Work experience directing/managing a Community Recreation Division for a Garrison, or similar civilian community, for at least one year.
2.Three (3) years' of supervisory experience.
3. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding non-appropriated fund Operations to include NAF Major Construction and Capital Purchase Minor Construction (CPMC).

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Foreign overseas allowances, post allowance, and differentials will be be paid, contingent upon eligibility. Foreign overseas allowances may include post allowance, living quarters allowance(LQA), Temporary Quarters Subsistence Allowance (TQSA), home leave. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
