Duties

Help

At the full performance level, major duties include:

  • Provide analytical support for the design and development of complex financial information systems, assisting in the definition of system objectives, and providing detailed specifications for the data requirements and statistical analysis of financial data.
  • Provides guidance to the Division and the FDIC regarding financial information gathering, identifying additional public and private sector sources of data that will enhance analyses and studies of FDIC issues.
  • Undertakes diplomatic initiatives on behalf of the Division involving other FDIC offices and Divisions, and on behalf of the Corporation as a whole, involving outside groups, including other regulatory agencies and the public.
  • Works independently with staff and management and other FDIC business units to define user requirements related to financial systems and their implications for the banking industry.
  • Compile and supply information for incorporation into studies, policy decisions, and testimony.
  • Orally presents analytical results to the management and professional staff of the Division, the FDIC and other organizations with an interest in these topics.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for CG-13, applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) experience analyzing bank financial and non-financial information, 2) resolving bank structure transactions, and 3) collaborating with others to query data.

To qualify for CG-14, applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) experience leading a team prioritizing tasks and approving work, 2) analyzing and resolving bank structure transactions, and 3) collaborating with teams to resolve issues impacting information systems.

Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $255,000.
