Help
  • Responsible for the overall management, fiscal resources, and direction of the DFMWR Business Operations and Community Recreation Division at a large garrison. Directs, develops and administers plans and procedures.
  • Implements, enforces, and ensures compliance with regulations to provide aggressive community business and a comprehensive community recreation program widely recognized for addressing a broad range of interests and needs of the military community.
  • Provides sound leadership and supervision to ensure attainment of the established objectives of the division. Provides policies and guidance to ensure attainment of the established objectives of the divisions.
  • Reviews program objectives and priorities, and develops five-year plan with Capitol Purchase Minor Construction (CPMC) and Annual Operating Budgets covering projected programs of division resources.
  • Develops and recommends methods, operations, and programs to ensure profitable business activities income. Coordinates and markets program within the community.
  • Institutes innovative programs to meet future needs including development and support of contingency operations for mobilization and demobilization.
  • Develops policy and strategic plans addressing resources, facilities, and programs. Serves as the Garrison representative and advisor on matters relating to recreation and morale support of soldiers and their Families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resume and supporting documents must clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Work experience directing/managing one or more Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs for a garrison, or similar civilian operation, for at least one year.

In addition, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred":
Applicant must have two out of the three listed to meet highly preferred criteria

  1. Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Business Operations Division, Community Recreation Division and/or Business Recreation Division Chief at a small to medium sized military Installation or a minimum of 5 years experience managing/supervising two or more non-appropriated fund programs.
  2. Bachelor's Degree or higher in a field related to job announcement
  3. Minimum of 3 years experience developing/executing annual operating budgets, procurement, and financial management.
Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list.
