Duties

Help
  • Serves as Operations Support Specialist under the direction of the DFMWR.
  • Implements technical safety codes, Risk Assessments/Risk Management and safety requirements for a variety of operations.
  • Advise supervisors and managers on matters involving accident and fire prevention.
  • Performs Composite Risk Management. Responsible for the annual safety inspection and follow up of deficiencies.
  • Responsible for the implementation of physical security and personnel security programs with DFMWR.

  • Must be able to complete the FEMA online courses (within six (6) months of employment.
  • Incumbent will be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Call back and emergency duty may be required.
  • PER AR 380-67, NON-US CITIZENS WILL NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED T3 (SECRET) INVESTIGATION, THEREFORE, WILL BE UNABLE TO QUALIFY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Progressive work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • Preferred are those candidates who have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, OPSEC, Anti-Terrorism (level 1 & 2), Force Protection & DISS.
  • At least one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes experience applying a knowledge of regulations, standards, procedures, methods and techniques related to Antiterrorism Program of an Organization, Facility or Installation levels of responsibility. Have experience and have conducted the Risk Management Process as directed by DoD standard 3. Threat Assessments IAW DoD standard 4 DoDI 2000.16
  • At least one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes experience applying a knowledge of regulations, standards, procedures, methods and techniques related to safety and occupational health in an industrial environment such as with maintenance and/or operation of heavy mobile equipment, warehousing operations, construction activities; experience in conducting safety and occupational health inspections; conducting accident investigations in order to prevent reoccurrence; facilitating safety related events.
  • At least one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes experience applying a knowledge of regulations, standards, procedures, methods and techniques related to Physical Security Programs (PHYSEC), Personnel Security Program (PERSEC) Has had access to and familiar with the Department of War program of record for security clearances (DISS) , Information Security Program (INFOSEC) and operations Security Program (OPSEC).
  • Applicant has at experience or received training in Emergency Management (EM) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) Certified in the Basic National Incident Management System training; such as Basic Incident Command System (ICS) courses IS-100.c (Introduction to ICS) and IS-200.c (Basic ICS for Initial Response), IS-700.b (Introduction to the National Incident Management System) and IS-800.d (Introduction to the National Response Framework) to provide broader context on how ICS fits into national-level.
Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants may be referred for consideration at managements request.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
