Duties

Help
  • Manages all aspects of the Recreational Shooting Complex to include Retail Store, Rental Firearms, Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clay, and Five Stand and Archery Ranges.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal Firearms License (FFL) regulations for the purchase, storage and sale of firearms. Responsible for overseeing firearms and ammunitions storage and physical security procedures.
  • Supervises employees performing duties in support of the Recreational Shooting Complex, develops and implements standard operating procedures, budgets, short and long range action plans.
  • Coordinates functions with community, and military representatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Subject to satisfactory completion of background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, to include a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI).
  • Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty.
  • Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) as required by Army Regulation 600-85. A negative drug test is required prior to appointment for a TDP. Incumbent will be subject to subsequent random drug test as required.
  • Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, IAW DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 30 August 1993.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  1. Prior experience with firing range operations, firearm safety, and firearms instruction.
  2. Work experience managing or directing range operations and sales.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  1. Possess at least one (1) year experience with Gun Ammunition and equipment sales.
  2. Possess at least one (1) year experience with Shooting/ Gun Range Operations or Skeet and Trap and Firearm safety, and Firearms instruction.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.
  • In accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations, most individuals will be authorized movement of Household Goods, Temporary Storage, and Air, POV, or Rail Transportation to your new duty station. In addition, some individuals may also be authorized Temporary Quarters Subsistence Expenses (TQSE).
  • PCS is contingent upon signing a one-year continued service agreement.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
