Summary

About the Position: Serves as a Hydroelectric Power Operations Superintendent under the general supervision of the Operations Manager (OM) of the Lock and Dam Project.
Supervises and coordinates the performance of all work necessary to operate equipment in the powerhouse such as turbines, generators, transformers, power switching equipment, automated controls systems and auxiliary equipment
Performs critical coordination with a variety of outside agencies and special interest groups.
Coordinates operations activities with other project operating elements and maintenance crews, including scheduled outages of any and all project features.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing duties related to power plant production and related equipment at a multipurpose power project, power generation, power transmission and automated control systems; and 2) Coordinating with other power production facilities, reservoir control centers, transmission control centers, and federal and state regulatory agencies; and 3) Overseeing projects and operations related to hydroelectric power plants.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
