Summary

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron Grounds Cafe, located at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas.

This position is Flexible, guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. May include nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.

Duties

Help

Prepares and serves hot beverages (i.e. brewed coffees, lattes, espresso, tea, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, etc.) Sells and serves a variety of cold beverages, prepackaged snack and food items, such as soda, juice, cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Receives food and beverage orders, operates a cash register. Opens and closes facility following set procedures. Prepares documentation for cash funds accountability and related cash records. Prepares tables and side service stands with hot and cold food items and restocks napkins, straws, cup lids, condiments, utensils. Cleans area to include operating a dishwasher or manually washing bowls, pots and pans, glassware and beverage makers .Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as coffee machines, ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind refrigerators, under and behind kitchen equipment or table areas, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizes garbage cans. Unload and inspect food items from delivery trucks.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to specialty coffee preparation or similar activity. Barista must have knowledge of variety of drink recipes and knowledge of coffee beans and teas typically served at a specialty coffee operation. Must be able to know how to safely use the equipment such as an espresso machine. Must be able to memorize specialty coffee drink recipes. Must have the ability to hear and follow oral and or written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
