Duties

Help
  • Supervises tradespeople, whichmay include providing recommendations on hiring, firing, employee appraisals, training, and problem resolution.
  • Working knowledge of operation and maintenance on industrial electrical systems, electrical power source and distribution equipment, high pressure steam boilers and auxiliary heating units, and large industrial air conditioning systems.
  • Provide direction to subordinates on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines for work assignments.
  • Investigates and resolves operational issues to ensure continuous operation of a large hospital utility system.
  • Creates and manages employee work schedules to ensure continuous coverage for 24/7 shops.
  • Mentors, coaches, trains employees to support employee development and continual improvement.
  • Effectively communicates operational status and problems to upper-level management in a timely manner.
  • Provides quality inspections on completed work to ensure conformance with Federal regulation, standards, and established industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element applicants should document experience where they are able to perform common Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor asks to include leading teamwork on repair or maintenance projects, and duties with the preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment, buildings and facilities. I can perform maintenance and servicing on industrial air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment, and making repairs to electrical fixtures. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: Performs work, which involves frequent bending, reaching, crouching, standing, and arm movement. Works in awkward positions or cramped areas. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Most work is done inside where it is frequently noisy, drafty, and fumes from vehicles are usually present. Occasionally performs repairs outside, sometimes during bad weather. Dirt, dust, and grease are always present. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of bruises, cuts, shocks, burns, and strains while repairing, positioning, adjusting, and moving equipment, and is exposed to the possibility of receiving burns and skin irritations from acids, fluids, and lubricants. Works in noise hazard areas, requiring an annual audiometric evaluation.
