Duties

Help
  • You will perform surveillance to ensure all facets of work performed meet government quality standards.
  • You will prepare written detailed discrepancy reports of instances of failure of government and contractor quality assurance and inspection processes.
  • You will witness critical evolutions and processes during the production phase to ensure proper tolerance and/or working criterion to specification requirements.
  • You will provide data and recommendations to the Quality Assurance Officer for Contractor Performance Evaluations (CPE) on all painting contracts administered.

  • You will be required to qualify as a man-lift operator.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT Level II designation.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

  • Experience conducting quality assurance audits, surveillance, and critiques in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
  • Experience utilizing controlled work packages (CWP), re-entry control (REC), and departure from specification (DFS) procedures and associated opening and closing reviews and vertical audits.
  • Experience conducting inspections on deep diving submarines and surface ships, nuclear and non-nuclear systems, inclusive of mechanical, piping, structural, hydraulic, air, electrical, coating, preservation systems.
  • Experience in-processing inspections at various checkpoints during removal, disassembly, repair, modification, re-assembly, associated components and equipment ensuring correct installation to exacting specifications.
  • Experience inspecting surface preparation such as mechanical-cleaning, chemical cleaning, and abrasive blasting cleaning of the hull, tanks and other critical surfaces exposed to possible oxidation, prior to the application of protective coatings
